Singer Taylor Swift is the world’s top-earning celebrity, according to an annual countdown of highest-paid stars.
Forbes released the highest-earning celebrity list in which Swift has collected estimated money of $185m (£148m) in pre-tax earnings in the year beginning 1 June 2018.
Swift also topped Forbes’ Celebrity 100 list in the year 2016, when her pre-tax earnings were calculated to be $170m (£136m).
This news comes right after it was revealed that Swift has lost most of her music due to an ensuing row with music mogul Scooter Braun as she accused him of “stripping her of her life’s work” by acquiring her former record label Big Machine. In a follow-up to that news, it was alsoreportedthatthat Swift was offered the chance to buy her own music but “walked away” from her tracks in October 2018, after a 10-month negotiation over the sale of Big Machine Records to mega manager Scooter Braun`s Ithaca Holdings.
As for her earnings this year, the bulk of it comes from her 2018-19 earnings from Reputation stadium tour. Her Reputation tour is credited to bethe highest-grossing tour in US history.
Swift also released a new album titled Lover – her first release with her new record label Republic Records. It will come out in August this year.
Following Swift is social media and reality TV star Kylie Jenner who ranks second with an estimated pre-tax pay packet of $170m (£136m). She was earlier placed on Forbes’ list of the world’s richest self-made women thanks to an estimated net worth of around $1 billion (£800m).
